The place where we spend our childhood is very special to us and I was going to the place where I spent my late childhood and great portion of my teenage years. I was going to my school Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya and that too after long time, after about 11 years. It was a boarding school, where I studied from grade 6 to grade 12.
I took admission in 2001, then school was in the campus of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University (DBATU) Lonere. Our school JNV Raigad established on December 1994 with a single section of class VI. Our was the seventh batch and after our bath every section (grade) of school was filled, our batch had completed the school. I stay there only three months because I admitted at the end of the year but those three months were very special. I have only one photograph from there.
In seventh grade we moved to Solapur for a few months, because Lonere's agreement was over and our school at Nizampur was under construction. We were in JNV Solapur for about 3-4 months, after that we came to Nizampur where our school was being built. Initially, we were staying in the school building for a few months, until our hostel and rest of building was being built.
These two pictures are from JNV Solapur
This is what school looked like when it was under construction.
This photograph is from when we were in class X.
School Building
After entering the gate you first see the School building, very nice and in square shape. The school building has around 18 classrooms, 3 laboratories, a computer room, a library and staff rooms.
This is the entrance of the school building, with attached stage which use during assembly and the central space acts as assembly ground.
This is what one of the classrooms looks like from inside ( BTW its class 12 classroom)
Hostel Room / Dormitories
After going a little ahead of the school building , Boys hostel will come. Campus has 8 hostels, 6 for boys and 2 for the girls.
This is girls hostel , Isn't it beautiful ? Its beautiful!
Girls hostel structure is also same, I never got a chance to go in and see but both boys and girls hostels are same in design from inside and out.
Mess ( Dining Hall )
Mess is almost in the middle of the campus, very spacious hall,it has seating capacity of 500+ students. Girls seats in the right side area and boys in the left side.
Principle Room
Principle home built at a superior location from which you can see school campus well and the right location very important for effective control.
Teacher and Staff Quarters
The teacher and staff quarters are at the end of the campus
Some Campus Images
The Campus size of most JNV is atleast 30 acre larger. According to JNV website, JNV Raigad has a campus size of 36 Hectares (88 Acres)
